INFLUENCES OF HELICOPTER ROTOR WAKE CHARACTERISTICS ON BLADE AIRLOADS

This work introduces specially developed computational models, which represent specific physical features of wake vortices in rotor simulations. The physical phenomena, investigated here, are vortex filaments consolidation, viscous vortex roll-up, tip-vortex diffusion and vortex filament straining because of geometry distortion. Comparisons with experimental data are included for several flight conditions.
