Keywords: Magnetohydrodynamics, Turbulence, Flow control

The application of electromagnetic forces to locally control turbulent flows is numerically investigated. Large Eddy Simulation and Reynolds-Averaged turbulence models are presented. The vortex shedding behind a square cylinder can be altered. A substantial reduction in the skin friction coefficient for the flow over a flat plate can be achieved.
