Human powered aircraft (HPA) are of high aspect ratio, very low weight, and are consequently equipped with very flexible wings. At the DLR Institute of Aeroelasticity, Germany, a scaled wing section based on an HPA is built and tested to explore linear and non-linear aeroelastic effects of the design.
