A two-level optimization frame, in which system and local design variables are optimized by system and subsystem optimizers respectively, is presented. The Response Surface technique based on Uniform Experimental Design is adopted to simulate the single disciplinary models. The framework’s effectiveness is shown by a wing design optimization.
