An efficient preconditioning method for solving compressible Navier-Stokes (NS) equations was presented. Matrix preconditioning was incorporated with multigrid and dual-time stepping method, which resulted in a very efficient approach for solving viscous, unsteady flows. Numerical simulation of steady and unsteady viscous flow over airfoils was investigated.
