This paper describes the development of a Level D simulator aerodynamic model for the Bell M427 helicopter. The final model uses curve-fitted aerodynamic derivatives and is validated using flight data. This innovative approach has permitted the development of a helicopter aerodynamic model in a timeframe of 6 months.
