Keywords: helicoper design, ultralight, large rotors, ground effect

Ultralight helicopters with large compound rotors like YURI 1 of Emeritus Professor Akira Naito of Nihon University offers great possibility for agriculture, sport and military applications.A dedicated test bed is needed to study the flow around rotating blades, the change of airfoil caracteristics, flow conditions in test space, structural problems and Dynamic stability especially when operating in ground effect.
