The RRA technology has been developed for thirty years. It has advanced from coupon-level characterization to application to large aircraft component, e.g., C-130 sloping longeron, using in-situ method with real-time computer control. The RRA treatment yields a combination of T6 strength and T73 corrosion resistance, hence it becomes a vital technology to address the aging aircraft problem.
