Discrepancies between finite element (FE) predictions and experimental results for a welded fuselage panel subjected to uni-axial compression were investigated in order to determine the impact of experimental errors. To establish the extent to which these experimental errors can affect results, an investigation was carried out, centring on one particular welded specimen, which was tested and analysed previously.
