The mixed structured singular value µ allows the designer to determine the robustness of a control system. The exact calculation of this measure is not possible. Therefore, we confine ourselves to the determination of lower and upper bounds. As lower bound calculation remains still a main interest of research, especially in the case of real parameter uncertainties, a new algorithm for its calculation will be presented. The new method is based on modal control ideas.
